Your pick-up at the station for Valmorel
For Valmorel, your driver meets you off the train with a sign bearing your name, already aware of the real arrival time thanks to your train number. The van is loaded on the spot: skis, snowboards, suitcases, pushchairs, with any child seats you booked already fitted.
Before setting off, your driver checks your accommodation address with you, because in Valmorel the drop-off point depends on where you are staying. You are usually on the road within minutes of stepping off the train. More on the meeting point: Moutiers train station pick-up.
The road to Valmorel: down the valley before the climb
Valmorel and Doucy are our only destinations where the journey starts by heading the other way: rather than climbing towards the 3 Valleys, the van drives down the Tarentaise valley towards Albertville as far as Aigueblanche. There it leaves the main road and takes the mountain road up to Valmorel. Allow about 18 km and 25 to 35 minutes.
On winter Saturdays the main valley road carries both arriving and departing holidaymakers, and the drive can take noticeably longer. We allow for this when setting your return pick-up time, so you are not racing for your train.
What if the train is late?
Your driver tracks the train and turns up for its actual arrival time, with no need for you to call. Only a change of train or travel day needs a call or WhatsApp to +33 6 45 15 19 18.

Arriving in Valmorel: car-free village and drop-off point
Valmorel is built around a pedestrian village centre at 1,400 m: cars do not drive through it, and neither does the van. If you are staying in this car-free part, your driver stops at the nearest accessible point to your accommodation and helps you unload; expect a short walk with your cases.
Other accommodation, away from the centre, is served by road, and there the van pulls up at the door. To pick the right stop, we need the name and exact address of where you are staying when you book. Once settled, you ski the Grand Domaine, shared with Saint-François-Longchamp on the far side of the Col de la Madeleine. For a quieter stay on the same ski area, Doucy, shown below, is the other way in.

Valmorel to Moutiers station transfer
Bus or private transfer between the station and Valmorel?
On the way back, the van collects you from the same spot as your drop-off, at the agreed time. Tell us your train time and we plan the departure around it, allowing for the drive down to Aigueblanche and back up the valley to Moutiers. Midweek, around half an hour on the road is usually enough.
On Saturdays this main road is where the traffic builds, so leave with a generous margin and book the slot early, as it is the day everyone travels. You can book your return transfer together with your arrival.
Coach services run to Valmorel during the season. They are good value for a solo traveller, but their timetable may not match your train and the stop is not always near your accommodation.
A private transfer leaves when your train actually arrives, and you pay per van, not per person: for six, it comes to €100, under €17 each. For a family with skis, it is often the simplest way to get there.
Frequently asked questions
Can the van drive into Valmorel's pedestrian centre?
No, the heart of the village is car-free. Your driver stops at the nearest accessible point to your accommodation and helps you unload; if your accommodation has road access, you are dropped right at the door.
Why does the drive head towards Albertville first?
Because Valmorel lies in a side valley that opens near Aigueblanche, downstream of Moutiers. The van drops down the main valley for a few kilometres before starting the climb; that is perfectly normal, and the €70 fixed fare already covers it.
Can we ski to Saint-François-Longchamp from Valmorel?
Yes, Valmorel and Saint-François-Longchamp make up the Grand Domaine, connected by lifts and pistes. If you are coming by train, Moutiers station is about 18 km from Valmorel, roughly 25 to 35 minutes by road.
How much is the transfer on a Saturday in December?
On Saturdays and Sundays from early December to early May, a winter weekend surcharge is added to the €70 base fare. The price calculator includes it automatically, so you see the exact amount before booking and it does not change afterwards.
