Village or Champagny-le-Haut? Decide before you book
The road from the station to Champagny
There is just one thing to settle before booking: are you going to the village or to Champagny-le-Haut? The price and drive time depend on it, so choose the right destination in the calculator.
On arrival day, your driver waits at the Moutiers station exit with a sign bearing your name, having tracked your train from its number. Downhill skis, cross-country skis, suitcases, a pushchair: everything goes in the van, and any child seats you asked for are already fitted. You climb in, the driver loads up, and the valley begins a few minutes down the road.
The first part of the drive heads up the valley through Salins-les-Thermes, Brides-les-Bains and Bozel. At Bozel, the Champagny road leaves the Pralognan road and climbs to the village at around 1,250 m: about 18 km and 25 to 35 minutes in all. For Champagny-le-Haut, the van carries on beyond the village, higher up the valley, so add a few minutes.
On winter Saturdays, the stretch as far as Bozel is shared with travellers bound for Méribel and Courchevel, and the journey can take noticeably longer. In snowy weather, the driver adjusts the pace on the climb.
Late train for Champagny
The train number you give us lets the driver follow your arrival and push back the pick-up. If you miss a connection, a quick message from you still helps.
Two arrivals: the village or Champagny-le-Haut
Champagny village, €70
The village, at around 1,250 m, is linked by gondola to the La Plagne ski area. The van drops you at your accommodation, or at the gondola if you want to get on the slopes straight away: your skis come out of the boot right by the lifts.
Champagny-le-Haut, €90
Higher and further on, Champagny-le-Haut is a peaceful valley given over to cross-country skiing and walking, on the doorstep of the Vanoise National Park. People come for the quiet and the wide open space. The higher price simply reflects the extra road beyond the village.
Either way, give us your address when you book: the driver sets you down at the door whenever the road allows, and as close as possible otherwise.

Other ways to reach Champagny
To head back down, tell us what time you would like to leave Champagny; if it does not work, we will suggest another time. From the village, leaving about 50 minutes before your train gives a comfortable margin midweek; from Champagny-le-Haut, add a little more. On winter Saturdays, the drive down to Moutiers runs through the middle of the resort changeover, so bring your departure forward again. A return booked together with your outward transfer is arranged from the start, and it is one less thing to think about during your stay.
Coaches link Moutiers station with the Bozel valley, with timetables to check depending on the season and the day. For a solo traveller, that is the cheapest option. For Champagny-le-Haut, look carefully at what public transport actually serves it before relying on a bus. A private transfer cuts out the waiting and carries your luggage to the door; with 6 in the van to the village, €100 comes to under €17 per person.
