Your welcome at the station for Doucy
The drive from Moutiers station to Doucy
Your driver stands at the platform exit with a sign bearing your name, ready for the actual arrival time of your train. Doucy is mostly a family resort, so the van takes pushchairs and ski bags in its stride, and any child seats or boosters you requested are already fitted.
As Doucy's chalets are spread across the hillside, the most useful thing you can give us is the precise address of your rental, or its GPS coordinates if the owner has sent them. Your driver speaks English and French and is happy to answer questions on the way.
Train delayed
Thanks to the train number you gave when booking, your driver knows when you will really arrive and is there at that time. Caught a different train? Just send us a message before you get in.
As with Valmorel, the journey starts by heading down the Tarentaise valley towards Aigueblanche, before the van leaves the main road and climbs to Doucy. Allow about 20 km and 30 to 40 minutes.
The last part of the route depends on where your chalet sits on the hillside, which is why a precise address saves time. On winter Saturdays, arrivals and departures meet on the main valley road, and the drive can take much longer than midweek. Your fare, however, stays exactly as quoted when you booked, whatever the traffic on the day. If snow is falling, your driver simply takes the climb more gently.
Arriving in Doucy: dropped at your chalet door
In Doucy the chalets are scattered across the hillside, so there is no single arrival point that suits everyone. That is exactly why a door-to-door drop-off matters here, especially for families arriving after a long journey with tired children.
The van takes you right to your chalet whenever a drivable road leads there, and your driver helps unload skis, cases and pushchairs. If the final stretch is a snowy private drive or too steep for a van, your driver stops at the nearest safe spot instead and helps you carry on from there. Arriving late at night? The fare is the same, with no night supplement. Once settled, you get the calm of a small family resort and lift access to the Valmorel Grand Domaine.

Doucy to Moutiers station transfer
Bus, shuttle or private transfer to Doucy?
On departure day the van comes back to your chalet door at a time we agree based on your train. Midweek, allow about 30 to 40 minutes on the road, plus time to load the luggage and settle the children.
On Saturdays the main valley road is often jammed in both directions, so we bring the departure time forward accordingly. If you have to leave your rental early in the morning but your train is later, let us know and we will work out the most convenient time together.
Where a coach does run to Doucy, it stops at fixed points, and chalets scattered across the hillside can be some way from them. With children, skis and suitcases, that final stretch is hard work.
A private transfer leaves when your train arrives and stops at the door; for five people it costs €95, or €19 each. For a solo traveller with light luggage, the coach remains a cheap option if its timetable fits yours.
Frequently asked questions
Can you find a remote chalet in Doucy?
Yes, with the exact address or the GPS coordinates your owner sent you. Pass them on when you book: your driver plans the route before collecting you at the station and drops you outside the chalet if there is a road to it.
Why is Doucy €5 more than Valmorel?
The drive is a little longer: about 20 km and 30 to 40 minutes, compared with 18 km for Valmorel. Both resorts share the same Grand Domaine, and the €75 fare stays fixed for one to three passengers.
Do you have child seats for Doucy?
Yes, child seats and boosters are available on request; give us the children's ages or weights when you book. They are fitted in the van before you arrive at Moutiers station.
Is the transfer more expensive if we arrive late in the evening?
No, night journeys are charged at the base fare. What changes the €75 price is the number of passengers and the winter weekend surcharge.
