Pick-up at Moutiers station for Saint-Martin

From Moutiers station to Saint-Martin-de-Belleville

As you get off the train at Moutiers station, your driver greets you with a sign bearing your name and loads your bags, skis included, while you settle in. The driver speaks English and French.

The drive to Saint-Martin is short, barely half an hour, so you are soon settled in your chalet, even after a long day of travelling. If you have rented a chalet outside the village, keep the full address and any directions from the owner to hand: the driver will go through them with you before setting off. You pay the fixed price directly to the driver, with no deposit.

Saint-Martin-de-Belleville is the first resort on the road that climbs the Belleville valley from Moutiers. At around 15 km and 25 to 30 minutes in normal conditions, it is the shortest of the valley's three trips, with Les Menuires and Val Thorens further up the same road. The road climbs steadily from the valley floor to the village at 1,450 m.

On a winter Saturday, even this short run is not spared: every car heading to the higher resorts uses the same road, and the journey to Saint-Martin can take considerably longer.

Arriving in Saint-Martin: dropped at your chalet door

Saint-Martin-de-Belleville is a village of chalets at 1,450 m, surrounded by hamlets on the slopes around it. People come here for peace and quiet, away from the bustle of the big resorts, and many rent a chalet away from the centre, at the end of a lane or in a neighbouring hamlet.

That is where a private transfer earns its keep: the driver drops you at your door, not at a stop in the middle of the village. For an isolated chalet, give the exact address, the name of the hamlet and, if you have them, the map or directions sent by the owner. If the last stretch is narrow or deep in snow, the driver gets as close as the road safely allows and helps you with the bags.

Saint-Martin's ski area is linked by ski to Méribel, so you can sleep in a quiet village and still enjoy the 3 Valleys.

Saint-Martin-de-Belleville to Moutiers station transfer

Coach or private transfer to Saint-Martin?

To get back to the station, the driver returns to your chalet at the agreed time. When booking, give the time you would like to leave Saint-Martin; if it looks too tight for your train, we can advise a different time.

The drive down takes about 25 to 30 minutes in normal conditions, but on a winter Saturday you share the road with everyone leaving Les Menuires and Val Thorens, so allow a good margin. Booked together with your outbound journey, both transfers are arranged at the time of booking.

In winter, coaches serve the Belleville valley from Moutiers station; check their stops and timetables for Saint-Martin. They work well if you are staying in the village centre and travelling light. For a chalet in a hamlet, the coach stop often leaves the hardest part still to do: the final stretch on foot, with suitcases, through the snow. In a group, a private transfer costs little per head: €130 for eight is €16.25 each, and €100 for five is €20 each.
