The Moutiers taxi at the station
From Moutiers, one road for each valley
All winter long, our taxi is parked outside Moutiers-Salins-Brides-les-Bains station, exactly where skiers step off the train. Other vans in the team handle pre-booked transfers, so your journey never hangs on a single vehicle. Your driver speaks English and French and greets you with a sign bearing your name. Whether you travel alone, as a couple, as a family or eight strong, the van carries your party and nobody else. For a step-by-step account of your arrival, from platform to van, read our guide to pick-up at Moutiers station.
Moutiers is the crossroads of the Tarentaise: the roads to the big ski resorts all start from here. Brides-les-Bains is barely ten minutes away, while Val Thorens, at the far end of the Belleville valley, takes about an hour. Most journeys to Méribel and Courchevel take 25 to 45 minutes. Valmorel is the exception, as you first head down the valley before climbing. On winter Saturdays, when holiday lets change over, traffic builds across the Tarentaise and journeys can take much longer. Our drivers cover these mountain roads all winter, snow included.
Late train? Nothing to arrange
Give us your train number when you book. We track its actual arrival time, and your driver works to the train itself, not to the time printed on your ticket.
Sixteen resorts, five valleys: choosing where to go
The 16 destinations we serve from the station sit in five valleys. The Belleville valley climbs from the village of Saint-Martin to Val Thorens. Together with Méribel and Courchevel it makes up the 3 Valleys ski area, which La Tania also links into. The Bozel valley leads to the spa town of Brides-les-Bains, to Champagny and to Pralognan, beneath the Vanoise massif. Valmorel and Doucy, reached down the valley via Aigueblanche, share the Grand Domaine. Whichever resort you choose, the price stays fixed and your driver drops you as close to your accommodation as possible, skis and suitcases included. Where the resort centre is closed to cars, the driver stops at the nearest access point and shows you the way. Child seats, boosters, pushchairs and bulky luggage are all covered on our service page.

Transfer, coach or shuttle: which suits you?
Transfers work just as well in the other direction. Tell us when your train leaves and we will agree a pick-up time at your accommodation, with a margin that reflects the distance. On a winter Saturday, allow a wider margin, because end-of-stay departures fill the roads in every valley. You can book the outbound and return transfers together. No deposit is taken at any point: you pay the driver directly for the return trip as well, at the fixed price agreed when you booked.
Coaches link the station with the main resorts, at a price per person and on a fixed timetable. Travelling alone with a single bag, you will often find it the cheapest choice. For families and groups, a private van changes the maths: one price for the whole vehicle, no changes, no waiting for the next departure, and a drop-off at your door rather than at a coach stop. Six people heading to Courchevel 1850 pay €120 for the van, which is €20 each.
Frequently asked questions
Is the taxi really outside Moutiers station all winter?
Yes. Our taxi is parked outside the station throughout the winter season. Booking ahead is still wise: it guarantees a vehicle when your train arrives, even on a busy Saturday.
Is the price per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle. The quoted price covers 1 to 3 passengers, then €10 is added for each extra person, up to 8. You see the exact amount before booking, and it does not change on the way.
Do I have to pay in advance?
No, there is no deposit to pay. You receive a confirmation by email, then pay the driver directly the exact price you were quoted when you booked.
Can we bring a lot of luggage?
Yes. The Mercedes van takes up to 8 passengers along with their skis, snowboards, suitcases and pushchairs. Let us know when booking if you carry a lot of kit or need child seats or boosters, which are provided on request.
